Senate Bill 26 will be heard on Wednesday February 11, at 9 AM before the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee. THIS BILL ENDS SUPPORTS FOR RENEWABLES IN NEW HAMPSHIRE.
In a nutshell, this bill will end the NHPUC’s renewable energy rebate programs, including the residential and commercial wood pellet boiler rebate programs, as well as the NHPUC’s annual competitive RFP (that has funded many biomass heating projects). It does this by directing all the revenues that go to the Renewable Energy Fund to go instead to low income weatherization and direct reimbursement to commercial/industrial ratepayers. The prime sponsor is Senator Jeb Bradley, chair of the E&NR committee.
If you support continuation of the PUC’s rebates and/or grants, I urge you to attend this hearing and make your views known. If you are unable to attend the hearing, you may contact individual committee members using this info. If you know of others who should know about this, please forward this message or link to them!!
The hearing is in Room 100 of the State House (first floor).
